Shopjacket – helping the UK’s high streets

March 16th, 2010

In recent days I’ve been working on some PR for an innovative new company called Shopjacket. Formed by designer Neil Wilson and commercial property consultant Paul Murphy, Shopjacket transforms empty shops by fitting specially-designed panels to give the impression that the shop is back in use. The aim is to tackle the blight of empty shops on high streets, which have a negative effect on town centres and the wider community.

The company has already received a lot of media attention, with the first shop to receive the Shopjacket treatment, a rundown former Select store in Whitley Bay that now looks like a thriving delicatessen, featured everywhere from the Telegraph and Mail to Radio Four and Sky News.
